My Story

Made slowly. Made by hand.

Sunshine and Happiness is an independent jewellery studio based in London, created by me, Aga, a jewellery designer and maker.

My jewellery journey began with a fascination for materials and the endless possibilities of transforming them by hand. I love the process of taking a piece of silver, a fragment of sea glass or a sheet of metal and gradually turning it into something completely new.

I work mainly with recycled silver and create each piece individually. Rather than aiming for perfect uniformity, I embrace the subtle marks, textures and variations that happen when something is made by hand. For me, these details are what give a piece its character and make it feel truly personal.

Sea glass has a particularly special place in my work. I have always loved searching for small treasures along the coast, and collecting sea glass became a wonderful tradition shared with my son and friends. Each piece has been transformed by years of tumbling and softening in the sea, often developing colours, shapes, and textures that could never be recreated artificially. I select each fragment individually and design the jewellery around its natural character, allowing its history to remain part of the finished piece.

Enamel is another material that fascinates me. Working with powdered glass, metal, and fire lets me introduce colour and depth into my designs, and I love the process's unpredictability. The combination of silver, enamel and natural materials creates a balance between structure and spontaneity that has become an important part of my work.

I studied jewellery design and making at the British Academy of Jewellery, where I developed my technical skills and deepened my understanding of traditional jewellery craftsmanship. My practice continues to evolve through experimentation, learning and simply spending time at the workbench.

Each piece begins with an idea and develops through the making process. Rather than pursuing perfect uniformity, I embrace the subtle variations created by hand-forming, casting, texturing, enamelling and finishing.

Recycled silver, enamel, and naturally weathered sea glass come together to create contemporary jewellery with a tactile, organic quality.

Traditional jewellery-making techniques remain at the heart of my work, while experimentation with form, surface and material gives each piece a distinctly contemporary character.

The jewellery has no production line behind it.
